Most haunted places in india except Bhangarh fort

Today we decided to look at five of the most haunted places in India, and we’re leaving out the more popular ones like Bhangarh Fort in Rajasthan and Mukesh Mills in Mumbai

Kurseong, Darjeeling. West Bengal
Dow Hill is considered the most haunted place in West Bengal by many. The Victoria Boys’ High School and Dow Hill Girls’ Boarding School have long been host to spooky activities. Several murders have taken place in the woods around the boys’ school, and people have reported hearing and seeing ghosts in the corridors. Some have even claimed to see a headless boy around the woods, and footsteps after the school have closed.

Think a beach is all ocean breeze, white sands, and suntans? Well, think again. Dumas Beach in Surat is an otherwise cheerful little beach when the sun is up, but the atmosphere flips at night. The beach is said to have been a burial ground, and it is said that the ghosts of those resting beneath the sands still roam at night. People have talked about hearing everything from quiet whispers to shrill shrieks while walking in the night. Dogs near the beach can be heard barking throughout the night as if sensing that there is something going on.
3.Savoy Hotel, Uttarakhand
Although not technically haunted, the Savoy Hotel in Mussoorie, Uttarakhand definitely deserves a spot in this special Halloween list just for the fact that it inspired the first novel by the renowned Agatha Christie, The Mysterious Affair at Styles (1920), and a thriller book by Ruskin Bond. The story goes that Lady Garnet Orme was murdered in the hotel in 1911, poisoned by a cyanide-like acid. Her doctor was found dead a few months later, mysteriously under similar circumstances. Some say that the ghost of Lady Garnet Orme still roams the hotel.
4.Shaniwarwada Fort, MaharashtraShaniwar wada
Shaniwar Wada, Pune
The Shaniwarwada Fort, or what remains of it, is remembered largely as the center of the Maratha Peshwas for decades. As the political center of the Maratha Empire, it has also seen its fair share of plotting, scheming and, occasionally, murder. One such murder that was committed within this fort was of the young 13-year-old prince Narayan, heir to the Peshwa Empire. He is said to have been murdered brutally, crying out his uncle’s name for mercy. Some say that you can still hear his piercing cries, especially on full moon nights.

Kuldhara in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan
In northern Rajasthan’s Jaisalmer region lies Kuldhara, a village that has been abandoned since one fateful night in 1825. On this night, all the people from this village and 83 nearby places vanished, without a trace. And since then, nobody has lived there. Some say that the villagers fled fearing the minister at the time, Salim Singh, but left their homes after cursing that nobody else would live in their lands.
Of course, a lot of these places follow the same old archetype, old buildings and places with a questionable, bloody history. With the exception of the Shaniwarwada, the rest of the entries are far from an urban city setting.
